More about Nerospec OSCON and the SANY Internal Demonstration Day

Nerospec OSCON is a South African based machine interface and intervention control specialist operating in the Mining Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) Collision Prevention System (CPS) environment. Since 2015, Nerospec OSCON has focused exclusively on enabling mobile mining machines to meet CPS requirements through compliant, fail to safe machine interface control.

Working closely with machine OEMs such as Sany, Nerospec OSCON enables machines to be delivered as CPS ready, allowing them to integrate into mine specific CPS environments across South Africa. Our solutions are proximity detection vendor (CxD) agnostic, giving Sany the flexibility to support any approved CxD technology selected by a mine.

Nerospec OSCON has successfully deployed thousands of operational CPS related installations across South Africa and internationally. To date, more than 9000 machine HUBs have been supplied into the mining market, spanning over 45+ machine OEMs, 600+ unique machine models, and more than 25 mining houses. This depth of deployment experience underpins our practical understanding of machine control, safe state enforcement, and operational realities underground and on surface.

During the demonstration, Nerospec OSCON will showcase live machine control and intervention on a Sany machine. This will include direct interfacing to machine systems and the enforcement of safe state intervention logic in alignment with MOSH CPS requirements. The demonstration will also highlight how CPS readiness enhances machine value, simplifies mine integration, and strengthens Sany’s ability to deliver compliant machines into the South African market.

Nerospec OSCON has successfully completed the University of Pretoria (UP) Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 assessment, as required for CPS solutions operating in South Africa. This independently validates both the technology and the approach, providing Sany with confidence in a proven, compliant interface partner.
